2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes “Small-scale Aid Organization” Support Fund

“Specific Non Profit Organization Shinsai Regain” accepts contributions to support small-scale volunteer groups that help recovery in Kumamoto.

During a post-disaster recovery phase, small-scale support groups often play a critical role in filling gaps where government and large aid groups cannot reach. However, they tend to lack experience in fundraising. We have acted as an intermediate supporter to back up many small aid organizations since the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami and reported those projects on our newspapers called “Shinsai Regain Press”.

After the earthquake has settled down, and the volunteer center has established, this fund will be crucial to support long term reconstruction program. In many cases, it is local groups who would try to run recovery program by their own. In that case, it takes some time to start. We will keep your contributions until then, and distribute them to organizations that vetted by us. We certainly will announce when we distribute our funding.

Thank you for your contribution.
